K.H. Lee earns first career win on PGA Tour at AT&T Byron Nelson

After a nearly 2 and a half hour rain delay with just three holes left in the final round, Kyoung-Hoon Lee’s earned his first career win on the PGA Tour to win the AT&T Byron Nelson on Sunday, which also gave him the final spot in next weeks’ PGA Championship. 29-year-old Lee finished the day with a 6-under 66, thanks to a pair of birdies on his final two holes to close out his final round. He flew three shots ahead of Sam Burns, too, who posted a 2-over 70 after leading for much of the week.

Lee, a Seoul native, only has one other top-10 finish this season, when he finished runner-up at the Waste Management Phoenix Open in February. He qualified for the FedExCup Playoffs in both of his full seasons on Tour. Lee will now get to compete at the PGA Championship next week at Kiawah Island in South Carolina, which will mark just his third appearance at a major championship. He missed the cut at the U.S. Open in 2014 as an amateur, and then missed it again in 2019.

No. 1 golfer Dustin Johnson withdraws from Pebble Beach Pro-Am Citing Jet Lag

The world’s top golfer, Dustin Johnson, has withdrawn from the 2021 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am days in Pebble Beach, Calif. Johnson was removed Monday from the field on the tournament’s official website. The four-day tournament tees off Thursday in Pebble Beach, Calif.

Johnson won the Saudi International on Sunday for the second time in three years. He has competed in just one PGA Tour event this year. His agent and manager, David Winkle, cited family time and jet lag as reasons for the late withdrawal, saying, “Following his successful week in Saudi Arabia, Dustin has decided it would be best to enjoy a week at home before the Genesis Invitational and the World Golf Championships at the Concession. Other than being a bit jet-lagged, he is feeling great and looking forward to the weeks ahead. While he is disappointed to miss the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which is always one of his favorite weeks, he feels his decision is for the best.”

The four-day tournament will air on Golf Channel and CBS. First- and second-round play will air from 3 to 6 p.m. EST Thursday and Friday on Golf Channel.

House votes to remove Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of her committee assignments over racist and extremist rhetoric

The House approved a resolution Thursday removing GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from her assigned committees. The final vote tally was 230-199 and 11 with Republicans voting in support of the resolution. Greene, a vocal supporter of Trump’s unsubstantiated claims of election fraud, has been condemned by Democrats and many Republicans for embracing numerous conspiracy theories in videos and social media activity before she took office this year.

Greene appeared to endorse violence against prominent Democrats, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and suggested that the Sandy Hook and Parkland shootings were staged “false flag” operations. They have since been taken down. The move to remove Greene from the House Education and Labor Committee, as well as the House Budget Committee, came after Republican leaders refused to remove her themselves following pressure from Democrats to do so.

Greene said in a speech ahead of the vote: “These were words of the past and these things do not represent me, they do not represent my district and they do not represent my values. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity, and I’ll tell you why. I believe in God with all my heart, and I am so grateful to be humbled, to be reminded that I’m a sinner, and that Jesus died on the cross to forgive me for — to forgive me for my sins. This is something I absolutely rejoice in today to tell you all. I think it’s important for all of us to remember, none of us are perfect. None of us are.”‘
